With multiple fires burning in Napa County there has been a decision made to postpone all athletic events, for the health of the student-athletes, and the public who watches those games.
Vintage was supposed to travel to Vacaville High Friday in a crucial MEL game, while Napa High was supposed to host its annual homecoming game Friday night. Napa High has moved it’s homecoming festivities to October 27th vs Armijo — the game is the week before Big Game XLVI (46). There has been no announcement as to when the games will be made up. There is a possibility all the missed games won’t even be made up. Justin-Siena also will not play it’s game against Redwood-Larkspur.
Napa Valley College which is serving as an evacuation center has cancelled classes all week. With the campus closed there will be no athletic events happening. NVC will go back Monday, October 23rd while other school districts, and Justin-Siena are scheduled to resume the school year next week, Calistoga Joint Unified on the other hand will not resume until Friday, October 20th at the earliest.
